How Kenya eTA eligibility works
Kenya's current rules use several exemption periods rather than one simple visa-free list.
Up to 180 days exempt
Burundi, DRC, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
Up to 90 days exempt
Includes Botswana, Ghana, Jamaica, Singapore, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and others.
Up to 60 days exempt
Includes Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Nigeria, Senegal, Seychelles, Tunisia and others.

Unless another permit, transit or official exemption applies.
Kenya eTA exemption categories
180 days: Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
90 days: Kenya publishes a separate list including Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Brunei, Cyprus, Dominica, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malaysia, Maldives, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Comoros, Samoa, San Marino, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Bahamas, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Republic of the Congo, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

What about countries once described as “referred visa” nationalities?
Kenya's current public eTA guidance does not publish a general referred-country list matching older eVisa-era rules. If an ordinary passport nationality is not in one of the published exemption groups, this checker returns eTA required and advises official verification where additional checks may apply.

Do all foreign travellers need a Kenya eTA?
No. Kenya publishes nationality, permit, transit and official-document exemptions.
Do UK, US, Canadian and most EU ordinary-passport travellers need eTA?
These nationalities are not in the published 180-day, 90-day or 60-day ordinary-passport exemption groups, so eTA is normally required unless another exemption applies.
Do children need eTA?
Kenya states that visitors including infants and children require eTA unless exempt.
